The Newham Deanery Youth & Partnerships Council involves decision-making and strategic planning, while the Newham Deanery Youth & Partnerships Coordination focuses on organising and managing youth partnership activities. IDEA supports both.
Dr. Paul Demetriou FHE, PhD, MA, PGCE is an experienced Mental Health and Education Consultant and author, specialising in working with people suffering from discrimination. He has also worked on post-graduate teaching programmes for 25 years.
Dr. Sophie Bankes, is an experienced teacher with over 1000 hours (10 years) of teaching experience across a range of different levels (KS2 - First Degree). She hold an English Degree from the University of Cambridge alongside a PhD and Masters from the Open University.
College student tutor with over 2 years of tutoring experience to secondary school pupils in the sciences and mathematics. Specialising in GCSE Maths and Physics, Mr. Mota has achieved all 8s and 9s in his GCSEs. He has delivered lessons to GCSE student at the University of Oxford and is on track to begin his Masters degree in Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.
Ms. Mamallan has tutored all stages of secondary school for 6 months. Has achieved 6 grade 9s in the GCSEs as well as the Jack Petchy award, two first class degrees awarded by the Brilliant Club programme and a Gold medal awarded by the UK Maths Challenge.
Mr. Musse is a KS4+ specialist, enthusiastic in imparting his passion for STEM to his students. He has had experience teaching advanced mathematics to KS3-KS4 at the University of Oxford. Mr. Musse received all 8s and 9s in his GCSEs and well as A*AA in the subjects he currently teaches. He is now studying chemical engineering at the University of Manchester.
Mr. Falleur is a mathematics tutor currently completing secondary school PGCE. He has spent 3 years teaching in Further Education and 14 years delivering professional training to corporate clients. He has received a Bachelors in Science from Nottingham University and a PGCRM from The University of Manchester.
Mr. Shaddel is a mathematics and physics tutor who has spent 3 years tutoring and 300 hours teaching in a variety of different forms. He received a 1st Class at Imperial College. Mr Shaddel is currently doing a postgraduate in Law in Oxford. interestingly, he has also received a national rank in table tennis.
Ms. Johnson is a STEM student who achieved nine grade 9s and one grade 8 in her GCSEs. In A-levels, she achieved three A*s. She is a mathematics and Science tutor as well as an Art tutor. She is currently running an art critique and curation programme for `Newham Deanery & Partnerships Youth Programme.
Oxford University lecturer delivers a special presentation our primary school children, aiming to inspire and introduce them to the world of higher education and academic curiosity from an early age. The lecturer breaks down complex ideas into simple, engaging concepts, making learning fun and accessible. By engaging with young minds, she hopes to spark an interest in learning and higher education, encouraging the children to see university as a future possibility and to nurture their intellectual curiosity as they grow.
University lecturer delivers a workshop to our secondary school pupils and their parents, focusing on the development of critical thinking skills. The aim is to help pupils sharpen their ability to analyse, question, and evaluate information, while also providing parents with insight into how they can support this vital aspect of their child’s education. By engaging both pupils and parents, the lecturer seeks to create a supportive environment that nurtures independent thinking, better decision-making, and preparedness for future academic challenges or career paths.
